Use this calculator when both the part and the whole are durations. Hours and minutes are converted to minutes, then the what-percent formula runs on those totals.
How this is calculated
Convert each duration to minutes, then divide part by whole and multiply by 100.
(part minutes / whole minutes) × 100
- 30 minutes of 2 hours is 30 / 120 × 100 = 25%.
- 45 minutes of 1 hour is 45 / 60 × 100 = 75%.
- Blank hour or minute fields count as zero.
